Composites manufactured by Kareline Oy Ltd are excellent for injection moulding and extrusion. At present Kareline® natural fibre reinforced composite granulates are available based on PP, ABS, PS, POM and biodegradable PLA matrix.

----

Kareline® PPMS. Kareline has at the moment two different PP based natural fibre reinforced composites (Kareline® PPMS COW and Kareline® PPMS EC). All of them are suitable for a wide variety of applications e.g. indoor and outdoor furnitures, decorations, tools, interior design and technical applications eg. in automotive or telecom industries.

Kareline® ABMS composites are excellent raw materials for technical applications e.g. in automotive, telecom or electronic industries, covers, tool and knive handles, but also for decorative parts, furniture and interior design

Kareline® PSMS gives a very beautiful natural appearance to products in applications where no extreme mechanical properties are needed bu t where excellent surface quality, fascinating outlook or extremely accurate dimensions are desired features e.g. in packaging of cosmetics and jewellery, in decorative items and swatches.

Kareline® POMS is suitable for technical applications, where good surface quality, low-friction surface, high stiffness and good impact resistance are needed. Possibility to mould extremely thick walls without sink marks and dimensional accuracy/stability are very important features in many applications where Kareline® POMS is used.

Kareline® PLMS is 100 % biodegradable fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite. The reinforcing fibres notably improve the original characteristics of the bioplastic, such as injection moulding capability and mechanical characteristics; the reinforcement also increases the temperature range under which the end products can be used. The cost efficiency of injection moulding production is much better when Kareline PLMS is used, compared to pure bioplastic.

----

Standard machines, moulds, colours and methods. The Kareline® composites can be injection moulded in all thermoplastic injection moulding machines and moulds; even hot nozzle systems can be used. Cycle time in moulding is typically 10-50 % shorter than for comparable normal plastics.

----

Methods normally used in post handling of plastic products, e.g. ultrasound welding, machining, various markings e.g. laser marking as well as additives and colouring agents, can also be used with the Kareline® composites. Any injection moulding company is capable to make the moulding.
